  1. In every mall you'll find couples holding hands so it's ok to hold hands. There are specific places to buy alcohol. I don't think you can kiss in the street but anyway why do you want to kiss in public?

About the electronics part, check this site http://jackys.com/ it will give you the price in Dirhams and Dollars. Also you can check this site http://jumbocorp.com

    Enjoy xx

  2. yes you cant drink in the street at dubai you cant kiss your boyfriend if your loking for a muslim country that has freedom go to turkey you can do anything you want there.

  3. it is not a good idea to kiss in the street  as this is not done in the islamic culture so it is respectful to abide by their laws.  as for holding hands again not really the done thing, altho u will see people of the same s*x holding hands.  u cant buy alcohol except in hotel bars and restaurants . However, if ur living there and have a residence visa  u will be given a licence to purchase a certain amount of alcohol each month, as long as ur not muslim. if u have a job where it is necessary to entertain then u are entitled to a higher allowance.  not sure what u mean about the policy with women so cant answer that one, except to say that women are freer in dubai than in some arab countries like saudi arabia they are allowed out alone and can drive.  electrical goods are cheaper as there is no tax however u would have to check that they are compatible with the electricity supply in yr own country.

  4. In the Arab world it is very common to kiss each other for greeting.Women/women, not women/men. Exessive kissing between lovers should not be done in public.

Yes you can hold hands. Just during Ramadan you should be dressed even more moderatly and beside not eating or drinking in the public during during the day you also should not hold hands.

Tourists can consume alkohol in licensed hotels and bars/restaurants/pubs. Non Muslim Expats can buy alcohol in special liquor stores if they hold a liquor license.

What else you can't do? Well there are things you can do, but you should not if you want to be considered a respectable lady. Beachwear should be worn on the beach and otherwise you should be dressed "normal", means no supermini skirt, no bellyfree shirts, no shorts while shopping etc. These are the things you can do but should not if you do not want to fall in the category of women who like to be starred at and who does not should any respect for themselves and also not for the Islamic culture. While shopping it may happen that some tea or water will be offered. Please take the offer.

    What you can not do:

Never ever take a picture of an Arab woman without taking permission!

Never try to convert a Muslim into another Religion.

Taking a cab, as a woman get in the back seat.

    Never raise your middle finger.

Avoid jaywalking the streets. If caught you have to pay a fine.

Don't fall around being drunk in the public.

Policy regarding women? As being here just for a visit? In this case you hardly will not get in touch with any Emaratis. Otherwise you will notice that a woman in general will be treated with respect. Example: if there is a line in front of an ATM maschine and you as a woman get in front of any men, no man will complain.

Regarding UAE Nationals in general you can say: the way you represend yourself is the way you be will treated.

The UAE is taxfree. Therefore everything may be cheaper than in your home country. In case you want to buy things, check out the customs regulations of your home country.

If you are in need for any more "rules", advices etc, please to not hesitate to email me. But you do not have to worry about a thing because Dubai is used to foreigners and very liberal.

    Take care.

  5. i think it would be naked on the street, lol...

yes, that stuff quite expensive better prepare first!

  6. I don't know about if you "legally" can't kiss or not.  I have spent a lot of time in Dubai and have never had any problem with holding hands or kissing.  I would advise against making out in public, but I don't really want to see that anywhere.  Your not suppose to drink in the street but you can't do that in Canada either so go figure.  You can drink in licensed bars and restaurants and you can buy alcohol at the duty free when you arrive and sometimes from the bars.  I am not aware on any "policies" with women.  I always have a blast there.  I would just watch the behaviour more during Ramadan, actually, unless you are there on business, I wouldn't advise going during Ramadan for a holiday.

Computer's and electronics are not expensive.  A lot of people go just to buy electronics.

  7. You can't be in America while you're in Dubai.
