What can Arsenal do to improve this year?

In an ideal, fantastic world, they could merge with AC Milan. Two teams of normal age average would emerge then and maybe then they could be finally taken seriously in their quest for titles.

No need for merging with AC Milan, Arsenal are more than capable of proving a few doubtful people (its early days!!) wrong, wait until our injured players are back, THEN we shall see the true Arsenal.

Arsenal have the same problem they had when they lost Viera 3 years ago - the absence of a true leader/centerpiece. Without a doubt this loss has been shadowed somewhat by the emergence of Cesc. Cesc is a phenominal talent and is easily one of the better playmakers in Europe today, but he is hardly the imposing figure Viera was when he was around. I would also class the players completely different positionally as one liked to get involved defensively where as Cesc likes to play off the strikers and run the show in a more attacking sense.

I like this Arsenal team, but clearly already you can tell they are missing something. Maybe a Gareth Barry or a Michael Johnson could fill this void as they have both a big midfield presence at Villa and City respectively. They are also english as well which covers them for the new UEFA laws. Whatever happens though, this young Arsenal team needs some muscle and experience in the middle of the park if they wish to challenge United/Chelsea this season. Cesc will fix things when he gets back but when he does get back they'll only threaten, I dont fancy them to win.
