  2. Don't use just water! It dulls the paint and actually makes it dry faster. I know... that seems weird but it is true. Liquitex has something called Flow Aid that you can add to water that works well. Use an acrylic medium or gel. They are designed specifically for that. Even some craft paint manufacturers have extenders that are really inexpensive.  Thick hair gel is a cheap substitute but test it out first.

  3. Have you tried water?

    Otherwise a good painting medium, which you can find in any art shop.
