What can I as an American citizen do to help the Iraqi people?

I've heard about all the horrible things that go on over there. I know that I'm only one person, but what I can I do to help?

Elect whatever presidential candidate promises to END THE WAR and get the AmeriKan troops out of Iraq.

You can tell all of the people that you know that it should be up to the people of Iraq & the Middle East to decide what happens in Iraq. Don't think the Iraquis or most of the people in the middle east are going to forget our invasions though. Just ask the British how well sticking their nose in everyone else's business worked out for them. We should learn from them, but we're not doing it.

Thank you! For being one person who doesn't spew their hateful pro-war rhetoric on yahoo answers. I think there are some good international organizations out there but getting into some places in Iraq are bleak, even for aid workers. Check out Oxfam and Amnesty International. It is a refreshing change to hear from someone who is humane.

The best hope the Iraqi people have for a better future wears a shirt that says 'US Army' on it.
