Or a school bag of his fave character.

Some cheap aftershave/hair gel stes(boiys that age start experimenting with hair gel etc dont they!)

Most boys of all ages love cars! My brother, who is 14, has always loved cars and still does. Maybe a toy/model car or a poster of cars or something? Or how about a DVD?

Ask at bookstore what they have for that age group? Or maybe something science related or a build your own model of something?

A Lego would be a great choice. It not only emphasizes creativity, but its a lot of fun too! At his age, try looking for ones called "Technics". Theyre more challenging than normal legos, but still a ton of fun!

remote controlled car or plane...heck even my 32 year old fiance has hinted he would have a go of these if he got one! any kinda gadget like a secrete notebook which locks/is voice activated and comes with a pen thats invissable unless you shine a special light on it.

boys love toys, no matter what age. This is a general rule. Take him to a toy shop and tell him he can have anything in that price range.
