I haven't had this experience before but will be making a lot of trips next month. The airline should be the one who paid for the loss, right? Insurance policy usually has a lower limit I think.

apart from clothes and personal hygiene stuff (btw, will a Burberry coat be regarded as "clothes" in their eyes??), what else can I claim?

I heard that you can't claim jewellery or electronic equipment etc. but does it mean I can claim e.g. a CD, or even a scarf?

just curious.....

  1. A Burberry coat will be regarded as clothing, as will a scarf.

Personal effects may also be covered. They will tell you maximum amount you can claim for on the ticket or on their website. You could take out travel insurance that will cover you for a lot more. Some deals are as low as £10 or £20. Google 'travel insurance' - I did and pasted three results here for you. Good luck and hope you don't lose anything.
