I'm about to be a senior, I have a gpa of 2.2, SAT of 1240 and I want to major in maybe Sports Management or Athletic Training. I messed up my junior year really bad failing in Alg 2. What can you suggest for me to do since most Universities wouldn't consider me? I didn't join or participate in anything except a sport and I think my only way to get into them is to get good grades in community college.

  1. Definitely do at least a year of community college - it will help show your dedication to working at a college level and will help to downplay your low GPA.  Also, more and more community colleges are starting bridge programs - you take two years at the community college and then can transfer all (or most) credits to a university - these bridge programs also give you extra points towards getting into the 4-year university.  Good luck!

  2. Well no need to be mean but with grades that low to get in to a college i would think you would need a c- to a c+ minimum avererge to get into any college with being really good at a sport

  3. I suggest one year of community college. Don't worry, because as long as you don't "mess up" again in CC and try and do your best, you can get accepted.  Sometimes universities give transfer students scholarships if  they have good grades coming out of a community college. And community colleges are the same thing, only without a big campus, don't worry though because a lof of people start out at a CC first.
