I will be graduating with a vocal performance and pedagogy degree in may of next year, and I really don't want to sing or teach. I really want to know what my other options are?

  1. Do you mean that you'd do a master's degree in another field (not music)? If that's the case, you'd have to find a program that accepts people without an undergrad degree in at least a related field. You could do a master's degree, but for what purpose? Think about what it is a master's degree would lead to. Would you simply be postponing getting a job and accruing more debt?  What are your interests? What would you like to do? Once you know that, then go for it: find a master's program that accepts you without having an undergrad degree in that area, OR start to take classes now, before you graduate, in that area (as a minor, perhaps). Good luck with that. It's tough to change your mind about your degree when you're getting ready to graduate in a year.

  2. Lots of grad programs don't mind what you majored in as an undergrad. You could consider:

    - MBA in business

    - JD (law)

    - Medicine (if you've done the med school pre-reqs)

    - Masters or certificate in arts management

And a lot of other possible degrees. But I'd have you first seriously consider what you might like to do. In fact, I'd have you get a job - maybe in arts management - for a year or two, while you explore your options. Then decide, and apply.

In fact, for an MBA, a couple years of work experience is usually required before you can apply.
