What can I do about BT? I believe I've tried everything!!?

I've had trouble with BT since I went back to them in June last year. I've had 5 different telephone numbers (without permission from me). I have made 2 complaints to no avail. I've tried Ofcom but they say "if your a BT customer you must go through the BT complaints procedure" b4 they will get involved. I'm losing the will to live with them. I have an 18mth contract with them. If I cancel the agreement b4 the time they are liable to charge me. What do you think my chances are that I will be able to cancel and not be charged? The last conversation with them was "they cannot find my details on their system" so I suppose if I don't exist to them, then what can they do?

  1. I think all you can do is keep on getting onto BT and keep complaining, and at the same time make a note of the time and date of your complaint, the name of the person you spoke to and all details of the call, once you have built up a record get onto OFcom again and explain the situation, depending on that outcome you can always email all the details to Ofcom.

If they cannot find your details on their system does that mean you are not receiving any BT bills - I doubt it, so that could be another approach to BT, if you are not on their system why are you being charged.

Once you have finally got sorted out with BT and they agree that your contract is ended, get back to me by email and I will tell you how to get in touch with another company who are excellent, I have been using them for 9 years and on the 2 occasions when I had a problem it was sorted out by the next day.

  2. A few months ago, the CEO of BT (Ben Verwaayen) said, during an interview on BBC Breakfast, that he regularly received e-mails direct from customers.

This is his e-mail address  ben.verwaayen@bt.com, send him an email and see what he can do.

  3. dont worry if they can take money off you for them doing nothing then they will, legally as you've signed a contract then you are liable for teh amount due under the terms of the contract. write down everytime you have contacted them and what they have said and try ofcom again and do not let them tell you to contact BT. if it really does fail i would contact BT again and no way would i hang up until they could find my details, be horrible to them and they'l soon get the messgae.
