My wife, Two small children and Myself live in a tiny apt. complex that was once a place for people 55 and older.

The manager decided to let Young Families move into the complex and the older people have a big problem with it. The manager is friends with the older tenants and she refuses to listen to my wife and I. There are two older ladies that constantly call the police on the children for playing too loud outside and now the manager is under the impression that the young people are the problem. My family is threatened by the manager on a weekly basis because of the constant false complaints. I called the police one time on an older woman because she was video taping my children. She told the police that she didn't have a video camera and they dropped it at that. The police told me that " This incident never happend."

Are there any angencies that can help us out with this situation?

  1. just move

  2. There has to be some sort of Fair Housing Commission in your area that would be required to investigate the situation.

  3. Soon as your lease is up move out.

Until then talk to the tenants that complain.Explain that you are trying to be a good neighbor and you will try to keep your kids quiet, but they are after all kids.Tell them you are not intentionally trying to by a nuisance and you apologize.Write it in a note by be the best thing and tape it on their doors. If you still have problems look into moving ASAP,some people can't be reasoned with!

  4. move

  5. I would try to move.  Old people sometimes go out of their way to be mean.
