What can I do about eye strain?

I work at a job where I spend all day typing and reading small print, and I'm a full-time student. When I read, though, one of my eyes kind of drifts off to the side so that I'm ultimately reading with just one eye. I've noticed that my left eye is better for reading things far away, but everything up close is blurry, and my right has the opposite problem. Unfortunately, after several hours of crossing my eyes or just closing the left and reading with one, I end up with sore eyes or massive headaches. I've been to the optometrist/opthalmologist, and I've taken the tests, and my eyes have checked out so far that I've never been prescribed for glasses, but I definitely have a problem when I can only read with one eye. What can I do?

  1. Give your eyes a break for about two minutes every couple of hours.
