What can I do about my cat?

My cat is 6 months old. She has been horrible since the age of 3 months when i started mixing soft & hard food for her. Ever since then, she will not, I repeat will not eat just hard food alone. She will literally let herself starve. She will pick from it but not enough to fulfill her apetite. She will run around like in a hunting mode. She gets into our food if it's left unattended. She has jumped into my 3 year olds plate while she was eating. The other day she went out the fire escape window as usual, except that this time she killed and ate our neighbors birds. Now today I caught her in my kitchen sink eating the raw chicken I had out, defrosting...I don't know what to do, she is driving me CRAZY!!! She won't eat hard food but she will eat other animals? I don't get it. I can't really afford to purchase soft and hard food all the time.

  1. first off she's a kitten.  Slowly mix more hard food in.  This could take a few weeks.  Water bottle, water bottle, water bottle.  Make loud noises when she misbehaves.  By the way it can take 2 years for a cat to out grow the kitten behavior and to start acting old.  Believe or not hiss at her that is what the mother cat does.  The water bottle when you spray it it is actually making a hissing noise.  If you get the right kind.

All cats are fussy eaters.  like I said slowly mix more hard in.

Also if your cat doesn't eat for 3 or more days it can actually start causing liver damage so don't go more than a day.  and dry food is a heck of alot cheaper than soft.  Do the math how many meals do you get with can food vrs. hard food.  Soft food is not healthy for a cat in the first place it doesn't help with their teeth and digestive system.  Ask your vet if you don't believe me.  Soft is designed for older cats with bad teeth and very young kitten like 4-6 weeks.

  2. u relly dnt need to worry, my cat is  years old and she still doesnt eat hard food now as she didnt like it, and still refuses to eat it now, i thin k the reason she is misbehaving and hunting like u sed she is...its probs bcoz she is hungry...she is a fussy eater just lke my cat...she will be fine on just soft food and plus its cheaper aswell... and with ur three yr old...u have show ur cat hu is boss...make sure she knows that she must not scratch ur youngster, be stern but dnt scare her...and good luck with the hole situation x x
