So I'm thirteen years old, and I've had my period for almost two years now. And it's been a little odd... See, my mom and older sister both go through beyond painful cramps, yet I don't know that I'm about to start until I see the blood. And I have a very heavy flow. As in, I constantly leak through Playtex Sport super tampons. Can I do anything to stop this? And is anything wrong with me?

  1. Have you been to see a GYN yet? I got my period when I was about your age and experienced the same things. I went to the DR. and they actually put me on "the pill". It helps out sooooo much. It makes you more regular and you don't bleed near as much. Pretty much, it makes you normal again. I don't know if you have a mother that would be okay with you on that sort of medication as young as you are, but you could always just tell her you would like to see a DR to see what they would reccomend. Again, this is just the option that I tried and it made a huge difference in how I felt.

  2. double up the tampon and use a pad

if you don't feel like doing that then go get checked

  3. Always wear a pantyliner, don't worry you will get used to it.  And use a higher absorbancy, like super plus on those really heavy days.  Exercising can also help.  If it is still to heavy wear a tampon and wear a pad at the same time!
