  1. In summer you don't really use it but for the winter do stuff like put jumpers on and when its not raining don't use the tumble dryer

I hope they come down but you don't get nothing with brown

  2. Change provider. I'm changing to a fixed price with npower.

  3. Hi There. Go online and type "ebico".

This is a relatively new, not for profit energy company, founded by a group of christian ex-city high-fliers.

They don't expect you to start going to church or anything like that!

I was intrigued by such a company so, being a total athiest,I changed over to them and the first quarterly bill(not an estimated one) was £97 for my gas and £57 for my electricity bill....

As opposed to £220 for gas in the same quarter last year and £180 for electricity in the same quarter.

Tell as many people about EBICO as you can... and s***w British Gas and EDF...They are owned by frogs and krauts anyway!

    Hope this helps

  4. I have unplugged all unused lights, t.v.'s anything I can, do not use the clothes dryer, hung clothes line, use oven less, t.v. less, less lights,

wash clothes with large loads, not small, use dishwasher on a monthly basis only.  just cut back where you can, also wrap the electric or gas hot water heater, and TURN IT DOWN., mine is on low, works just fine...never run out of hot water...use garage (electric) door less often, turn temp. for house differently, seal windows better all the small things you do adds up............

    My bill has changed ALOT!

  5. Use solid fuel, unless you have one of these recently built houses that doesn't have a chimney!

  6. you can change your light bulbs over to low energy ones, gas you can turn your thermostate down a little, pay monthly, at the mo they have a fix your price untill 2011

  7. put aluminium tape behind your radiators.

  8. What we have done at our house here across the pond is...turn down the heat height on the hot water heater...and when we want really hot water just turn it up a bit before we want to use it....it helped cut the cost in half for me.

On electricity, turn lights off when you are not in the room, as with fans, and other non essentials.

There may be a correlation to the time of day you use it, call your electric company and ask,

In Florida, the kilowatt hours are more costly from 9 am to 5 pm, but at 10 pm at night, that was when the electric dryer was used, for the rate was down then....same with water consumption.

Takes some effort, but the results speak for themselves!

  9. Emigrate , the way things are going here , i'm just changing suppliers from british gas, did you see how much profit the greedy buggers made ? they get away with murder in UK

  10. Ok,we have this problem here too, my July bill has doubled .

    Use only "oil column heaters".

No electric blankets.  Wear an extra jersey.

Get thermal drapes on doors and windows -or double -back your curtains.

    Switch off unwanted lights.

Conserve current usage , but don't freeze in winter.

    cheers.

  11. seal the house for drafts-extra insulation where needed-turn off anything not needed-its back to the basics-not much more you can do

  12. It's disgusting that we keep paying more so their profits soar! I think in the winter we will just have to freeze!!

  13. there is nothing u can do so stop trying!!

  14. Well I would swop and get a better supplier.....I did.

Cut down on usage and turn off any unwanted appliances. Dont leave TV`S and Computors on standby they use as much electric as if they were up and running....did you know?
