Question:

What can I do about this newly-forming pimple?

It's under my skin, it's really hard to see right now even though it hurts a bit and it is raised a bit. But it isn't red yet, so it's just about to become a major problem.

I first noticed it as pain an hour ago, and when I rubbed my fingers on it, I noticed it was a sizable bump under there. I immediately used my normal routine - salycilic acid cleanser, toner, and moisterizing, then put a pretty large amount of benzyoil peroxide on there.

I then put some ice on the area for about 15 minutes. Everytime I look in the mirror it continues to get more red, and it's going to be a killer tomorrow!

Should I be using warm compresses? Or keep with ice? I think its deep under the skin. Nowhere near forming a head, but soon will be a large red bump.

  1. Put some toothpaste on it over night.

that seams to works for me.

  2. There isn't anything that you can do immediately and personally, the toothpaste method didnt work me.

    1. Just keep washing your face and make sure it doesnt become too oily.

    2. Use your normal acne cleaners and moisturizers

    3. Don't fiddle with it too much! or it may become a permanent mark.

  3. well you should wash your face everyday and after the pimple is gone still wash your face it can come back

  4. Maybe try some tea tree oil.  It's all natural and a small bottle of it will cost about $5-$8.  It can be a good alternative thing to try, on top of your normal salycilic acid and benzoyl peroxide.  Anyway, tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and can help with treating the bacteria in the breakout.  Just put a drop on a qtip and dab it on the spot.

It almost sounds like you're getting a cyst.  Are you prone to cystic acne?

  5. The ice will make it red, but the cold will keep it from getting bigger.  I would continue doing the ice...the red will subside and it won't get too much bigger.  At least this is what I'm told...
