My son turns 5 the end of August. We are not going to have a party, because there are no little kids around. He is not in day care and in the middle of summer before he starts kindergarten! I was thinking about taking him to Medeival Times with his 9 year-old brother and step-dad and grandparents. Does that sound ok? Or does anyone have any other ideas? More specifically, I live in the D/FW area.

  1. take them to seasme place in pennsyavlia. it is really fun and it has all the characters kids love. go there. it will be really fun!!!!

  2. Does he like to cook? If so try a couple of classes from the Chefs Academy ( if there is one in the d/fw area).  Ask him what he would like to do. Giving him that responsibility to chose will give him that "big boy" feeling...Good Luck

  3. Thats sounds really fun. fOR MY 5 y/o twins i took them to sports plus. It has rides and a giant slide ith lazer tag and bowling with an arcade it was very fun. Hope you have fun.

  4. I was very scared of Medeival Times when I was a little kid. Also, the food they serve doesn't usually tend to be what a 5 year old likes.

Maybe a day at an aquarium?

    (BTW, Sportsplus closed down!)

  5. Great ideas are fun parks specially for younger children... maybe somewhere for older children aswel so they can both have fun and stuff to do try not to choose some where like a rollercaster park as they are mainly for older children your son will not be able to go on most of the rides. What about letting him choose? give him some options that you like the idea of and let him choose. Its a great way of him expressing him self and ur guaranteed he will enjoy it. If your not sure he's responsible enough to pick, what about asking him and then he can decide wether or not he likes that idea.

And what about an original birthday tea afterwards with friends and family it will be a great get to gether and you can all sing happy birthday, get a cake and make the day end on a great note. as for the 9 yearold brother if you do decide to have a birthday tea., why desnt he invite a friend round so he is not feeling to left out with his brother having all the attention.

  6. Take them camping.

  7. i think that is a fantastic idea!

  8. ok, heres a thought, many children his age  LOVE MAIL, AND WHEN MY CHILD WAS 5 YOU KNOW WHAT ID DID, I GOT A HOLD OF ALL HIS RELATIVES, AND YOU SHOULD TOO, THIS IS CUTE, CALL HIS RELATIVES EVERYONE, THAT HE KNOWS, AND THROW A CARD PARTY FOR HIM, EXPLAIN TO EVERYONE THAT YOU DONT HAVE MONEY FOR A PARTY, AND THAT HE IS TOO YOUNG FOR A PARTY ANYWAYS, SOO THIS IS A SUPRISE CARD SHOWER PARTY FOR YOUR SON, AND HAVE EVEREYONE MAIL OR EMAIL HIM, RATHER MAIL HIM A CARD ADDRESSEWD IN H IS NAME, AND WHEN I GOT A CAKE AND ICECREAM FOR MY SON AND YOU FOR YOUR SON, FOR DEESERT, THEN I GAVE HIM HIS CARDS, AND WATCHED HIM OPEN UP ALL HIS CARDS, AND BOY HIS FACE LIGHT UP AND HE LOVED TO GET MAIL, HE HAD TEN CARDS ALL DELIVERED TO HIM PEWRSONALLY, HE LOVED THAT, THEN THE ONES WHO CANT AFFORD A STAMP, AND HAS A COMPUTER I SHOWERED HIM WITH LOVE ON HIS EMAIL, AND HE GOT ALOT OF CARDS TRHEN TOO, MAKE HIM OUT LIKE HE IS A STAR OF THE SHOW, AND BE ENTHUSITIC , LIKE HE DESERVES IT, A CARD SHOWER FOR WHAT YOUR SONS NAME IS, AND INVITE ALL HIS FAMILUY MEMBERS, YOU SHOULD SEE THE LOOK ON HIS FAce, AND HE WOULD LOVE IT
