I am on muscle relaxers and they are not helping. I'm having trouble sleeping and I feel really sore and stiff. I'm sick of not feeling well and not going and doing the things I like (going out, working out, taking walks) I go to the dr. on monday for my post ER checkup. Should I ask him for medicine? I know the insurance will cover all this but I feel like what I really want is a massage. Will they cover that?

I don't go to chiropractors either.

  1. Heating pad. It helps a little.

  2. try putting a small heating pad on the back of you neck and rotate your head in circular motions left to right right to left or get masseuse.

  3. Absolutely speak to your doctor about all the pain you're in.  They may want to do further testing.  I'm no doctor, just speak from experience.  You may actually be in more pain several days after the injury.  This is usually from soft tissue injuries and swelling.

It's possible you've got a whiplash and need a neck brace, too.  Ask the doctor if you can use heat and or cold packs on the sore areas and for how long?  Hot and cold therapy can be very helpful.

You can go for physical therapy, if the doctor thinks it's okay.  Sometimes they want you to heal a bit before sending you.

I hope you feel better soon and have a complete recovery.  Good luck.
