What can I do for my 21st birthday?

It's my birthday in december, my older brother and sister had big parties where everyone got plastered on alcohol, however, my fiance Michael goes to AA to get over his Alcoholism, I don't want him to feel left out or relapse either, but the rest of my friends are drinkers and expecting drinks there? I'm not too keen on a party where everyone gets plastered as there's the mess to think of, but I don't want to disappoint my guests either, I'm considering it all now as my parents will come to me August/September wanting to know what I want to do, how much it's going to cost each of them etc, by thinking about it now gives me time to think of something.

  1. join hooters

  2. I'd say have a birthday party with close-knit family and friends - WITHOUT alcohol.  Especially since your fiance's well being, and sobriety is important to you.  My sister just turned 21 in April and we threw her a surprise birthday party.  We were thinking of having a toast for/to her.  But my Grandmother (who was there) is a recovering alcoholic, so we decided against it.  But none the less we still had a ton of fun.  It wouldn't be fair for/to your fiance to be around it (as a temptation.)  And I'm sure he'd appreciate it if you went out with your friends and drank at another time when he's not around.

  3. I agree, just because alcohol is around does not mean you fiance will need to drink it. Besides, there is no problem with alcohol and 'getting smashed' in moderation.

The last time I was drunk was my 21st birthday four months ago, and then once again a few days ago for my work leaving do. Otherwise I never drink.

Have a party with a BBQ and a readily available selection of drinks. Dont dissapoint your friends, and keep your fiance entertained to.

Maybe get a bouncy castle/pool or something fun you can all do whilst drinking.

Look at http://www.your21st.co.uk for further ideas, and most of all good luck!

  4. I would have a party where food, drinks and alcoholic drinks are available to those who want them. If your friends are expecting it, then don't disappoint them. People who are alcoholic are exposed to alcohol a lot and know that they have a choice to drink or not drink. Alcohol is available at restaurants, stores, people's homes, parties. It's nice of your parents to throw you a 21st birthday party. I would try to think of what it would cost and add a little more to it in case you forget last minute things.

  5. Go to Vegas u can gamble without getting drunk

  6. have s*x, it would be very romantic

  7. throw a rave

  8. good idea to start thinking about it now. well i suggest holding your party somewhere where you can drink however if you're not drinking you can still have heaps of fun. i'm having mine at Rosehill racecourse, so all us girls can have fun dressing fancy for the horse races, and the boys can have fun betting even if they're not drinking, plus cause it's a public venue, people who are overly intoxicated will be thrown out, which gives your guests motivation not to get plastered. or do something totally different, rock climbing, parachuting, sharkdiving, zoo sleepover (some zoos have this) hire an adult jumping castle, hope i helped
