What can I do for my aircraft project ?

I study at college and i need ideas or any sort of help on my aircraft project. I just dont know what to do for the project so any ideas are welcome.

pick a plane that has a long sevice life like th dc -3-and show how much impact it had on history and the industry

The Supermarine Spitfire would be good subject,everyone knows the name,there are models readily available and loads of DVDs,books and videos on this aircraft.

I won't snow you under with web sites,Spitfires will appear at air displays all over the UK this summer.

Buy an Airfix kit and make one - but modify it so that it becomes more of your own work

go to your local model shop and cost a simple glider. Ask about the local model flying club and their whereabouts and give them a visit,,,,if theyre anything like most of the clubs i visit then they will be more than willing to help.

How about the Me 163 Komet.

This was the extremely fast rocket-powered plane the germans designed in WWII. Flying it was very dangerous due to the volatile chemicals used. It was also a very strange looking beast with no tailplane, just a rudder.

The fuel only lasted six minutes and it had to glide back to base where it was liable to explode if there was any of the stuff left in the tanks.

This would make a really interesting project and there is loads of stuff on the net about it.

It would be a simple model to build too!

How about BlackHawk helicopters and their applications and adaptability? Or on various supply planes, especially with the Myanmar cyclone issue.

Why not prepare a comparison between the various materials used to make aircraft - positives and negatives. Eg. old style materials - wood frames and doped fabric, conventional aluminium, and todays use of composite (carbon fibre).  You should be able to get samples of each and there is loads of data available for you to use  to explain about each.
