Today I was at the park when a gust of wind came. The sand went into my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and it hurt when I opened my eyes. So I closed my eyes and then ignored it. And I didn't feel anything for the next 3 hours. Then right now when I blink it hurts. I think the sand is in my eyes still. But I don't know for sure. What can I do to make it feel better?

  1. I agree with Nicole.

Sounds like a corneal abrasion.  They actually heal very quickly, but can be quite uncomfortable until they resolve.

If you're still having any discomfort tomorrow, get it checked out.

And try to stop rubbing your eye :)

  2. You might want to get a generic artificial tears eye drop just to try to flush it out. Walgreen's or Wal-Mart have a good one for under $3. I would call your doctor or eye doctor tomorrow for sure, you don't want to mess with your eyes.Hope it feels better.

  3. The sand scratched your eye.
