  1. take them to a movie or a zoo

  2. Ice skating , roller skating we've done 2 b-days. Last year a pool party. This year we are doing a movie matinee and they gave us a great price for a minimum of 15. Like $5 a kid plus popcorn, drink and M&Ms. We take the cake.

We Have done a craft one too, where they do ceramics with a movie. pizza and drink provided by them. again cake by us. that one was about $10 a kid.

If there is a place that will do a package mani/pedi on kids thats a big hit. Girls love to be pampered and feel grown up at 9.

  3. How about mini golf, spa day, games/activites at a park, or a party at home?

  4. a simple sleepover in a simple hotel with a pool. maybe mickey D's for diner. hey, it's cheap and fun. bring board games for them to play with in the hotel room.

  5. How about a party at home where they make their own pizzas?  You could have several toppings laid out and they each get their own mini-crust, top their pizzas, you cook them and they eat.  Or--9 is a good age for a slumber party!

  6. do something simple at your home, she will definitely enjoy it, as long as her friends are there

  7. This year we rented a room for my daughters 9th b-day party. They had a pool. So we did a slumber/pool party. Ordered pizza and watched movies.

We spent $70 for the room and $20 on pizza. We only had 5 girls though.

  8. I have discovered (after numerous expensive b-day parties) that kids really are happy with simple birthday parties.  They really don't care about the elaborate plans we think they do.  They really only care about the gifts & the cake.

Here a few simple fun ideas:

*Buy a bubble machine (@ Big Lots, Dollar General, & Cracker Barrell)  & the kids will love it!!!!   All kids love bubbles.  I did this for my kids dual birthday party.  We had it at a park, turn the bubble machine on & had goody bags for each kid with little bottles of bubbles & bubble toys (all bought at a local dollar store) & the kids went wild!  They all loved it, every age group.  Meanwhile, I got the cake & stuff ready.

*Have a pool party.  If the weather is good, have everyone go to a local community center pool.  If it's not, find a local indoor pool.  Give all the kids goody bags with water guns, water balloons, mini bottles of sunblock, & any fun water toys (all can be bought @ Dollar Stores or Walmart)  All kids love water toys.  If there is no pool available, have a "Slip N Slide" party.  They can also be purchased at Walmart.

*Have a girls tea party at home.  Have them all dress up & serve them mini sandwiches, little cups of kool aid, & tiny cookies.

    Good Luck!
