I have a letter from the IRS (dated May 26) saying the check would be mailed to me, and I should receive it in about 3 weeks; that has come and gone.

It also says that if I don't get it by then, to call an 800 number listed at the top of the page. I've tried calling that number, but all I get is that "due to the high volume of calls, we can't take your call at this time," something like that, no matter what time I call.

HELP!!!! (I need the money!)

  1. Contact the Irs directly.

  2. That old line "the check is in the mail' is in force here.  I think they sent your check to GWB's personal account. As with calling any government number hang in there. The guy that is supposed to answer is severely out numbered. I hear they are in process of setting up a new call center in Pakistan to help. ....

  3. www.irs.gov

or your local IRS office- internet or phonebook.
