Question:

What can I do if a company claims I signed up for their service but I never authorize it?

A company called American Yellow Page claimed I signed up for their advertisement services 2 years ago when I never authorized anything.

They claimed my staff said "yes" to the service and that was enough to sign me up for the service. I just got a call from the collections agency claiming I owe them $550 plus interest for something that I didn't sign up for and also I did not receive any invoice or anything from that company.

How can I settle this and where can I find a lawyer?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Quite simply, demand they provide proof of the debt.  Since they won't be able to, they won't even waste their own time and money filing a lawsuit.

  2. its a scam report them to your states attorney general

  3. This is a common scam. Demand that they provide proof that YOU authorized this service.

Do you allow others in your company to make these decisions? If not, see my first sentence.

Also, contact your Attorney General to have this group investigated.
