Question:

What can I do if my husband's work permit renewal was denied?

My husband got denied for renewing his work permit because his form I-290B (Notice of Appeal/Motion) is still pending. The I-290B takes up to a year before we get a response. We cannot wait that long. Is there any way/action I can take (as an American citizen) to get his work permit approved quicker so he can work (to help our financial difficulty)?

  1. go back home....

  2. i doubt it, you can always talk to a lawyer that specializes in the case.

  3. i don't think so...he might have to go back. that is something you might have to goto a government website to find out.

  4. 2 things you can do: hire lawyer and contact the congressman. I would suggest going to your congressman's office and speaking to an immigration specialist (there is always one in a congressman's office). Don't call or write, express your concerns in person.

Don't pay any attention to some narrow-minded people here. They feel that they have the right to tell another citizen to go live somewhere else because we happen to marry someone who is not an American.

Good luck :) to you both.

  5. No, I don't think so. He will have to wait his turn.
