What can I do in Barcelona in two (full) days ? Request your suggestions on what my itenirary should be like?

I am more interested in historical buildings / architechture / walking around / good sights and views - and not much in museums. I will be staying near Ramblas.

I have booked myself in HOTEL OASIS near Ramblas. Any feedback on the hotel is also welcome.

I will be with my wife and 18 months old son.

Request your suggestions on what my itenirary should be like.

there is just one thing to do..just hop onto the turistic bus,its great,lets u see the city..like nothing else..with a child also very convienient,u can get on and off wherever u want,walking along the Las Ramblas,placa catalunya..in the centre of town,its very happening,can also do the zoo and the aquarium with a kid..

Barcelona is the most cosmopolitan city in Spain with historic and new architecture, good eating and night life. I believe two days will be a little time to see the city. November is and excellent month to visit. I stay in the city in my honeymoon in November some years ago. Expect a mild climate. The area near la Plaza Cataluña and the Paseo de Gracia are the best places to stay, where you can walk at La Rambla. I will recommend to take the touristic bus in front of El Corte Ingles at Plaza Cataluña. The red and blue lines will give you to the principal attractions like La Sagrada Familia,  Casa Mila(la Pedrera), Montduic and the Olympic City the water front, Pueblo Español, the soccer stadium, the Cathedral and others. If you are in the mode for a little adventure with your kid take the "cremayera train" up to the Tibidabo historical amusement park in the top of a mountain overlooking the city. You can also take your family to the Barcelona Zoo, is very nice and you can see it in 2 or 3 hours or the Aquarium. The Parque Guell, by Gaudi, is another splendid place to spend a afternoon(take a taxi to go there).  If you like, architecture, as I do, you can find plenty of modern works like the Museum of Contemporary Art by Richard Meier, the Miro Museum and the recent buildings near the water front. You can also go to the el Colegio de Arquitectos in the Barrio Gotico. Remember that Barcelona is a city to walk.

Love Barcelona....just take an evening stroll on Las Ramblas street.  While in Barcelona don't forget to eat Percebes.......

Well what I did was the first day I walked up Ramblas to the Gothic Quartre where we had a relaxing day of drinking nice wines with taps and wondering the gothic quatre.  The next day we went on a on of those hop on hop off bus and saw the sangria familia and the gaudi park and other sights that caught our eye along the way.

It filled up too day pretty good.

dinner/ lucnch at the marina,,,,,the fish is to die for.

and catch a concert at the music centre if you are lucky enough to be there when its on.

and a slow walk along the market at the Ramblas.

I was in Spain this past July, and only had one day to spend in Barcelona. What an amazing city, I want to go back!

Anyway, we were a group of four, and decided the most economical way to see as much as possible in our short amount of time was to hop on board a double-decker bus. For the four of us, it cost about 90 euros(about 70 or so American dollars). You could hop on and off at any of the many stops and attractions for a 24 hour period. It was the best decision we made. Have a great trip, it really is a great place! Be sure to check out the massive, and unfinished Gaudi Cathedral, located near the Ramblas

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. i have been wonderful place.  must  visit the temple

beautiful architecture ,football arena. much more to see but 2days not really long time. you could spend whole day at gaudi gardens its so lovely.  alltogether a magical city.  have fun

Definitely, definitely do the bus tour. By the two day ticket, which offers you a good saving. You will also get a discount booklet offering you discounts to many attractions. The bus will take you to all the sights of Barcelona. Not to be missed, in my opinion: Segrada Famiglia, Park Guell, La Pedrera, Nou Camp Football stadium (even if you are not a football fan), Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, Miro Museum, the Olympic Harbour.

Sorry about your hotel being cancelled, hope you have found other accommodation.

Enjoy Barcelona, it is a great city, lots to see and do, good food and wine, but a word of caution. There are a lot of pickpockets, so keep valuables out of sight and especially take care on the Rambla.

Hope you will have a great time - and a good restaurant, old and well established try Los Caracoles, in one of the side streets off the Rambla.

There is such a lot to do in Barcelona.  One thing I would suggest you do is get on the sight seeing bus.  I believe it costs about 17€ and there is one every ten minutes and you can get on and off it as much as you want to (Good thing with a little one)  This way you can fit more in.

Make sure you do the zoo and the aquarium (for the little one) and the fountains as they are fantastic.

You will see loads of architecture on the bus and remember to visit the Sagrada Familia!

One more thing is any big city with lots of tourists means pickpockets, so I sugest you split your money and credit cards with the wife, that way if you should be so unfortunate, you will have something to fall back on.
