What can I do in terms of law with a political science major and global studies minor?

  1. If you are looking to practice law then you need to get your JD in the US. It is possible that you could work for a government agency, legislature, or the government. Where is dependent on your definition of law and your goal for working with the law.  


  2. Currently, there is a lot of opportunities working with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in environmental law. With global warming and people becoming more environmentally conscious this arena is endless.

    You can also work as a lobbyist and find great opportunities in big corporations looking for people interested or with knowledge about international trade and business.

    One idea is also working with the UN. However, you need a graduate degree for most positions within the UN. Have you considered pursuing a juris doctorate to practice law?

    Just as a reminder, majors and minors are only guidelines to what you can do as a career. Your major and minor can open a lot of doors in different places.  Good Luck.
