What can I do now to help me become an anesthesiologist in the future?

I want to be doing something now to help me later. I am still in grade school, but i want to be prepared. HELP!

  1. Take lots of math and science courses.  Anesthesiology requires a 4-year college degree (taking pre-med courses - biology, chemistry, and physics), a 4-year medical degree, and 4 years of residency.


  2. An anesthesiologist is an MD so you will have to go to Medical School which is expensive.  So save alot of money.  Get A's in all your classes and take advanced classes as much as you can.  

    This is a very high level of doctor (MD) so it will be difficult.  

    Why don't you try to get an informational interview with one now so you know what to expect.  

    This career choice is NOT EASY.  The pay is extremely good.....but you have to be top notch.
