What can I do other than teach?

I qualified as a teacher just over a year ago and have spent 2 terms working as a teacher. I do enjoy teaching but I don't feel that is it the career for me. What other jobs would you suggest a qualified teacher could do? I enjoy working with young people, I also enjoy charity/fundraising work. An office job would also suit me fine. I'm looking into all sorts and just finding that I don't have the qualifications or the experience anyone wants :(

  1. I guess it would depend upon what age range you work/worked with?  You may want to look into becoming a professional trainer?  Did you teach a specific subject?  Did you enjoy one particular subject?  Maybe your talents lie in that area?

    Other ideas:

    Tutor

Administrator (in a private/public education setting)

You can become a para professional. They help students with special needs within the classroom. Many of these students function well, but need extra assistance.

Oh, and to the person who posted below, I was just offering suggestions (for possibly part-time work with students).  Sometimes, people don't enjoy teaching, but they may still enjoy working with students.  It is just an option..

  2. Stripper

  3. many teachers disillusioned w/ teaching are going into the pharmaceutical industry.

to the poster who said "become a paraprofessional..."- why?

thats like a surgeon becoming a nurse; why would a qualified teacher take a position filled by folks w/ 2 year degrees (or less)?  i certainly would not relish paying student loans on (at least) a bachelor's degree while occupying a position populated w/ folks who stopped after community college
