What can I do other then highlights?

I haven't colored or done anything fun with my hair in years. I want to change it up soon. How can I change the color but do something other then highlights or completely dying it?

just have fun with it. do it in semi-permanent so it will wash out faster if you dont like how it turns out.

try something fun like colorful streaks or chunks. try just dying the bottom layer black or darker then the top. try colorful tips, or extensions.

Have you thought about low lights?  How about coloring only the underneath hair, or the bangs?

Lowlights, or 'peek-a-boo'color. (i.e. - a few strategically placed foils of color, such as red, blue, pink, purple).
