I am looking for a way to spend Saturday afternoon outside with my girlfriend . We both work hard so we wouldn't want to do anything strenuous like rock climbing. We typically x-country ski in the winter and Rollerblade in the summer but there is no snow and roads are still too dirty for roller blading to be fun. Paths that we would walk on are all muddy. Any suggestions?

  1. In general, March and April are very blah times for outdoor events. You never know if the day is going to turn cold or get really warm. There is still snow on the ground, or it is melting and you get a lot of dirt, mud, and thawing doggy doo from people who did not p**p-n-scoop all winter.

My suggestion for this time of year would be a walk on Mount Royal, or you can bike along any of the many cleared bicycle paths. For something romantic, go to the old port and walk around or take a Caleche ride around that area.

Some of the open terrace cafes and restaurants are starting to get their tables out at lunch time, and so stopping for a coffee and brioche may be something to do downtown or in the square at the old port.

  2. Nothing too strenuous, huh buddy?

It really depends upon the weather and temperature but how about a quick hump on the Mount Royal?

    Just a thought...
