  1. go to Control Panel and change your power setting

  2. Good practice is to allow the battery to go flat and then charge it completely again on one charge.

You can run it as low as possible whilst in Windows until you can still shut it down safely. Then to get the last bit of charge out start the laptop again and when it says on start up to press 'Del' for set up (or what ever key yours states) press said key and leave it sitting in the bios screen until it turns itself off. Then give it a complete charge again.

  3. You need a new battery. Your battery's ability to retain  charge has diminished over the years. Lithium ion batteries aren't forever; they eventually need to be replaced. Unless you're computer is less than a year old and/ or is under warranty call the manufacturer. If not, you need a new battery.

  4. Go to control panel > power settings > power saver

    OR

Click on the battery icon in the quick launch bar and select power saver.

But i think you need a new battery if it only lasts 25 mins!
