What can I do so that less/no sound will escape from the room? Soundproof it?

I'm trying to expand my voice range, and so every night I 'train'. Erm, you know that as with training, sometimes we make mistakes... And a screeching sound is produced. Worse, the whole house hears it and it's just so...embarrassing. Is there any way to prevent sound from escaping my room? It's my bedroom, so I can't really do much to it... Yeah. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

They have shades that you could use that block out sound, you could also look into padding your walls, great fun! :) I'm not sure of a specific product, you might have to look around for some sound-blocking shades or curtains maybe.  Good luck!
