For example, are there any international organisations that advocate equality for women and campaign for women's rights and interests?

  1. unfortuneately, being a woman yourself and advocating womans rights may not be too sucessful. The best tact is like you say and join an international body.

Saying that, we must respect other cultures and we cannot force our own ways of life and civilisation on them. We also cannot patronise them e.g. China isnt the most democratic of countries, but it is one of the oldest still living civilisations there are, and if they want to slaughter tigers for medicinal products then so be it.

Ironically do you know there has been a link with women having professional jobs and rising obesity, ill health and childhood misbehaviour. It is thought that in the past the woman was in charge of the household, all food was fresh and cooked fresh. Disipline was paramount.  Im not saying that this is right, but I wonder if women pushed things a bit too far and to fast, and society is paying for it.

  2. I think Amnesty International is probably your best bet. They have run many campaigns, including, for example, supporting the women in Darfur. I remember last year they ran a campaign called 'The truth isn't s**y' to try and stop women (I think Eastern European women in particular) being traded as commodities.

    see http://www.amnesty.org.uk/content.asp?Ca... for more examples!

  3. You can burn  your bra.

  4. Join the Army or the Peace Corp and help fight oppression.

  5. To be honest, the only way you can truly help women in those parts of the world is to go over there with a gun and defend them.  You cannot trust international organizations and you cannot trust governments of those places.  Simple but harsh facts.

  6. There really isnt a lot you can do really. Relying on the government to do something about it should not be expected. Women have struggle for so many years for equal rights as men in many diffrent countries. Many of the times "Unsuccesfully" I think the best way would be to join some sort  of organization  which I personally am not to sure of. But yah I agree with  you .. oppression towards women needs to stop. WORLD WIDE

  7. nothing,  their situation is basically helpless unless you wanna go start some feminist revolution.
