I want to be valedictorian and next year I am going to be a freshmen in college. I need to know what should I change? How can i study more efficiently? I am not a procrastinator and I work harder than everyone. I also don't accept the fact that some people are just smart and don't have to study. I need to change something for this upcoming year to become smarter than the rest. What can I do?

  1. you sound determined enough

just make sure you learn everything well, revis things you arent sure of, ask questions when you dont know and always work hard

you'll be more respected for constantly working hard and being smart than those who dont reali have to study

  2. Sweetie, if you're talking about raising your native intelligence, there's not much you can do because we are all born with certain talents and abilities, and IQ is pretty much "fixed".  And yes, some people are blessed with the ability to make good grades without studying much at all.  However, there are some things that will make you appear smarter:

Increase your vocabulary.  Use new words appropriately at least five times in a day in normal conversation.  This will help cement new words into your brain.  Also, speak clearly and appropriately in sentences, and not in the newest teen slang, especially when talking with adults.  Don't use uh and like every other word.

Ask questions in class, if the instructor encourages that sort of thing.  It doesn't make you look ignorant, it makes you look interested.  Teachers love it when you sit in the front and take notes.  Some people find that recopying their notes while their "shorthand" is still fresh, helps tons!  Recopying also helps you review.

In college, expect to spend at least three hours studying for each clock hour you are in class.  Learn an organized study method, such as SQ3R, and use it daily.  Don't wait until the last minute to start your homework, or to start projects.  Do your homework every day, and look over the chapter (or whatever) on the weekends -- not hours and hours, but just to remind yourself what's going on in school.  You'll be better prepared for pop quizzes, you'll always have your homework, and your grades on tests should be better.  That makes you seem smarter.  Tackle the hardest subject first when doing your homework, so that it just gets easier as you go.

When you have to write a paper, have someone who's good in English proofread it for you, for content and for mechanics.  That means get your papers written early, so you have time for corrections/improvements before the deadline.

    Good luck!
