  1. true, true, if you get cramps WHILE running, it helps to press it with your middle and index finger, but to perhaps reduce getting cramps running, i do abdominal exercises. not just crunches and sit-ups, but bicycles (doing sit ups with one elbow touching the other leg. i.e. left elbow touch right let and so on), planks (push up position, but with your elbow supporting your body, and try to make it straight as a plank, don't stick you butt up), and side crunches. i also use medicine balls to help to abdomical exercises in physical training.

for breathing, i would swim maybe 3 miles a week or so. if you look at the fastest distance runners like Jordan Hasay, she swims every week. swimming makes your lungs stronger and bigger.

  2. Smile.... seriously smiling relaxes your body, and gets rid of those aches and cramps, try it, it actaully works.

  3. This happened to me at a 5k 2 days ago. I ran 3 miles doing this, so im sure you can too!

First, when I start hurting, I slow down a bit, and try to control my breathing. I take really deep breaths in through my nose, then out through my mouth. If you are gasping for air, slow down even more until you are comfortable. Then , when you find where your cramp is, Place your middle and index finger over the area and press. the pain should lessen quite a bit!

    hope it helps!

  4. Keep running. Your body will adjust. When you get cramps breathe deep and push your diaphram down when exhaling
