What can I do to friend who is always rude and puts me down?

I have this friend he always argues with me and tries to prove he is the smart one do I consider that person as my friend i dunno. he is always rude when talking I think that kind of person is bad for my self-steem what do u guys think?

Well why are you friends with this person in the first place? Do you want to be friends with someone who does this? If so, go ahead. But if not, talk to him and see what he thinks. Maybe that's just his way of making friends, maybe he does it to everyone. If its only you, then I would say make some new friends, because I'm sure there's better ones out there. But if you don't want to lose a friend, and you don't want to end up saying something stupid to him, just say something like, "Dude, why are you always trying to prove your better than me?" and see what he says. If he denies it, wait until he's being rude again, then say something.

yea he's bad for your self-esteem definitely! so don't be his friend! you can't consider someone like that a true friend. now don't like go and hate him either but try to avoid spending time with him.

Get rid of this person, this is not a friend. Find someone who will like you for you & won't try to show you up.

I am surprised you would even consider this person a friend.  Friends should encourage and build one another up.  We enjoy our friends' company not dread it.  

You are clearly the smart one here...talk to him about it and if things don't change ditch him and find some real friends who will celebrate who you are and appreciate you!

firstly...such kind of a person is not termed as a friend...so stop considering him a friend !!!!

secondly....if he's being so rude and egoistic with you....why are u hanging around with him at all????.....show him that ur as important and smart as he considers himself to be....and if he doesn't understand...then no point even bothering about him....!!

i am sure that if u look around, u'll actually find great 'friends' to hang around with!!!!!!

I HAVE A FRIEND JUST LIKE THAT! But i just laugh it off and be rude and argue rite back. don't let him get to u like that. and personally i think when a guy does that, he likes u.  cuz i think this guy who does that to me does, cuz he always gets mad when i tell him someone else is picking on me too, he always says he is the only one aloud to pick on me -.-



But yes, u should try and laugh it off and like give it rite back at him.  and if ur sure u can't do that, then get a older, stronger friend to hit him a few times till he agrees to stop, if he does not then stop being his friend.
