What can I do to get into NYU?

Question

Besides doing good in a Junior college, what are some extra curricular activities I can participate in for brownie points? I am willing to do a Billion hours of community service if that's what it takes to get into this school. I heard NYU stern is a very selective school and I need to do as much as I can to get into it. Please Help!!

Getting into Stern from a community college will be very hard, the rest of NYU would be much easier. Because Stern is a 4 year program, by the third year te students have taken a heavy base of the fundamental business core. Few community colleges offer these classes so it would be hard to have all the prereq's at the level they want them. Transfers into Stern are usually coming from within NYU or from other 4 year business programs.

Your better bet for transferring into a top business program is to choose one that starts in junior year such as the ones at Michigan and Berkeley.

This is not about the EC activities, it's about having great grades in all the classes they require for admission and high SAT scores. No school is looking at community service for junior admission.
