Question:

What can I do to get more energy during pregnancy?

I'm almost 18 weeks and I'm dragging so bad...I can't seem to wake up in the morning - and then pretty much crash after lunch. I have a 1 1/2 year old to chase so I can't just nap whenever. I work out 30-40 minutes about 3 times a week... any suggestions on pick-me-ups that don't include caffeine?

  1. I am sorry to hear that you are so tired. I am 19 weeks and the same way. I other than a nap I have found no other way to feel more awake. I would go to the doc and get your iron levels checked to make sure that it isn't anemia. Other than that, I wish I had something better to tell you.

  2. I felt the same way and the doctor tested my blood.  It turns out I was anemic. She told me to take over-the-counter iron pills (Slo-Fe) and they help a little bit.  She said to take them with orange juice for maximum absorption.

  3. well u have to discuss it with ur Doctor to give u some vitamins f it is necessary

try to eat more fruits/vegetables and protein and sleep well at night 8-10 hours

and check f ur stomach digest the food properly

    best of luck

  4. As per my doctor I started taking vitamin B complex and it has helped, almost too much some days...I seem to have too much energy now :-)

  5. Did you cut out caffiene completely??  It's not all THAT bad during pregnancy LOL, I would pass out w/ out my coffee.  But anyhow-

Lemon and other citrus give more energy... Completely give up refined carbs that mess w/ you blood sugar giving you highs and lows..  I was going to say excersise but you're doing that..  Pregnancy takes a toll on people in all different ways, I have always had a ton of energy but I know some women, no matter what, who cannot function period.

  6. Apples ! Good for you and baby, but also wake you up a lot like caffeine will.
