Question:

What can I do to get rid of my knee pain?

Yesterday I went for a run and after 15 minutes noticed a sharp pain in my left knee. It is on the outside of the front of my knee, just below the "k**b".

My mother suggested it might be the return of my shinsplints, but since the pain is only in my knee and only in one leg, I doubt it.

Occasionally, pain will shoot up the front of my leg from my ankle to my knee, but not frequently enough for me to suspect shinsplints of being the culprit.

I know to ice it and stay off of it, but is there anything I can do to get rid of the pain altogether? I love running and I miss it when I'm off my feet. :(

  1. Read up on magnesium...you may be lacking in it.

Also, make sure you  :-)  laugh a lot, through being with friends, reading, or watching videos, etc.   Laughter is the great cure-all that brings on the happy endorphins. (sp?)

  2. You've heard this before so you know that time heals all wounds. When I was told I could NOT run anymore, I had to find an alternative passion that was lower impact on my legs and spine but just as effective for physical exercise and mental venting.

YOU CAN DO IT!! Just use your abilities in skill-transference, soul-search and get passionate about something else.

  3. You could have slightly torn a ligament.  You need to see a doctor for xrays.
