What can I do to heal/fade/get rid of scars from self injury/cutting?

I've been cutting for about 3 years. I have countless scars. I have not yet recovered or been able to stop cutting so I do plan to find help to do that first. But when I can stop, what can I do to get rid of the scars or make them less noticeable? A lot of my scars are raised from the surface of my skin. Are there ways to help scars of this kind?

I know there are some creams that can help. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. Any stores in my area that may have products that could help?

  1. yes you are right.  there are creams but you might have to go get some kind of plastic surgery.  that might help but for sure you best bet would be the creams where you can get at any large styled retail store or pharmacy.

  2. go to a Walgreen's, cvs or any drug store, creams with alot of vitamin e usually help get rid of scars and repair skin

  3. Scars that raise to the surface are very hard to make disappear for the other ones theres over the counter maderma.[sp]

  4. The best thing you can do is buy straight vitamin e in gel capsules sut the capsule open and spread on the scars.  Please also know though that you need to get help.  I recently got help for my niece who had this problem and it is possible to start.  You need to value yourself more than this and understand that by cutting you risk severe blood infections which can cause death.  Even if you do not want to see someone professionally talk with someone close to you and ask them for support in helping you to stop.  Life is a very precious thing and I have never met a person without value to this world so no matter the underlying issues value yourself, I am certain that you were placed on this Earth for a reason.
