I just brought a goldfish home from a fair. I bought him some food and kept him in the bag, then settled the bag into a bowl of room-temp. water because I didn't want him to get shocked and die because of the temperatre change. Eventually, I let him out of the bag to swim around in the bowl until tomorrow. I planned to get some rocks to put in the fishbowl befor I leave him there. But I noticed he's been darting around the bowl and then just sitting at the bottom. And it looks like he's tilting slightly too. I've only just brough him home and within an huor he began darting around and sitting at the bottom. What can I do to help him?

I'm waiting for non-chlorinated water to be room temperature right now, he's still in a bowl with tap water. Is the reason he's dieing because I didn't prepare a bowl for him and took him home and put him in a plain bowl with tap water? Any advice so that I can help him abd keep him alive until I can get his bowl set up? Or just any adivce in general!?

  1. Hes basically being burned alive.  Chlorine is extremely deadly to fish and you need to get him out of there NOW.   Get some bottled water and put him in a bowl of that.  If you don't have any, borrow some from your neighbors.

And as soon as possible, get at least a 10 gallon tank with a filter.  He will die in the bowl no doubt.  I read your other question and you say you care about animals.  Well, if you do, you wouldn't force this fish to live in something compared to us living in a microwave.  Get him the proper housing, or give him to someone who can.

  2. Tap water isn't good for it. There is this mixture that you put into the water at a petstore
