What can I do to help my baby go to sleep...?

My daughter is 6 months and 1 week. She has been crawling for about a month and a half but she just started pulling up this last week. The problem is that she doesn't like to be rocked, we just lay her down and she goes to sleep. Today she pulled up and stood up crying everytime we left, which is okay I don't mind her crying a little bit, but the problem is that she isn't steady enough yet so she falls over and bumps into the side of the crib. We watch her outside the door to make sure she is okay but how can we help her to go to sleep? She is not a fussy baby at all and is cutting teeth but it seems like the problem is that she is pulling up. Also I understand that she may not be tired but she is, we can tell and it made her fussy all day. She only takes 2-3 naps a day (only 2 if they are long).

I just wasn't sure if someone had gone through this before and had any helpful tips that might help her. Thank you.

**We have a Well Check at the Ped. in 1 week so I plan on asking then too, just figured I would try to get some tips from other mothers**

  1. take her fpr drive till she sleeps, thats what my mom did

  2. They problem is : she is getting herself into a standing position and can't get back down. Have you moved her crib down as low as it can go?

This is just a phase. As soon as she learns to get herself back down, she'll go to sleep. you may have to give it a few days. Try to "teach" her to sit back down.

  3. She's probablyjust excited because she just learned something new.  My daughter is only 4 months so I'll be going through this soon.  My friend had a similar problem with her little one.  She would pull herself up to stand but then couldn't get back down to lie down.  She would stand and cry or sometimes fall down.  My friend  taught her daughter how to bend her knees to get back down to a sitting or lying position and that seemed to help a lot.  Other than that, I'm not really sure except maybe the teething tablets.  THey releive anxiety associated with teething and usually make my lil girl pretty sleepy.  I hope this helps.  Good luck!

  4. This is normal, make a routine, sing songs (Lori) you will find good results.

  5. Make sure you have a bedtime routine.  Do the same things every night, such as bath, pajamas, story, bed.  This helps the baby wind down, and they know bedtime is coming.  Also, I would shut the door, I'm sure the baby knows you are peeking in the door.  If they can see you, they will cry.

I would invest in a good baby video monitor.  This way you can still see the baby, but they can't see you.

    Good luck!
