I am just a kid but I want to do something to help my community. What can I do to help? I mean things like tutoring and planting trees. I am a good student and play lots of sports, so I don't have much time on my hands. What can I do for my community that doesn't take very long but that helps? Thanks!

  1. you're already doing a lot by being that way, thank you.

    1. you can learn more about God so that you'd be able to share about it to people around you

    2. yes, you can tutor an immigrant or a foreigner speak english in your country. -- maybe you can ask you parents to be host family to visiting foreigners

    3. you can also check out and hang out with other kids who like you, are interested about the welfare of others (there's a little girl in Canada who has created a group -- of young girls-- they raise funds and send them to Iran so that kids there can have teachers (the money serves as salary for the teachers by the way) -- she was reported in cnn, sorry can't remember her name, please check cnn for "Elena" in canada.. or something close to that )

  2. I understand that you don't have much time on your hands, but surely you have a day or two in between all that every once in awhile. In that time you can go out and plant trees around your neighborhood or something. :-P Or if you are in a younger grade and you get recess, you can pick up trash or help out students who need help then. Or if you are older and have the option of study halls and don't need them for anything else, you can help out students then. You don't have to do very big things to help out. It's all the little things that count (though big things count too :-P). Just doing small things like helping an older person across the street or pouring a bit of extra water you have on a plant with dry soil helps make your community become a better place. And even if it means you have very little time, doing well in school and playing sports keeps you healthy and promises you a good future, allowing you to do great things for the world when you get older. So thank you and good luck! :-P

  3. Clean up trash, grow plants and/ or trees. I'm trying to volunteer for college. I'm a junior in high school and colleges suggest to volunteer. Anyway, I called a few churches, YMCA, my own community, an animal shelter, and Salvation Army. Good luck!

  4. I am admire you Emily you are really a good girl to feel that you are resposible  on your society and here is the point: In my opinion there are many ways you can through it contribute in your society and it wont take much time . eg, keep your class clean , do not drop any thing on floor of street , stydy hard and be ambitios person in order to help your society more when you be something in the future

  5. Figure out a talent that you have and donate that. For example, if you are really good at English, you could tutor kids in English. If you enjoy and are great at sewing, you could donate some clothes that you made to the local shelter. Those are things that you can sort of do on your own schedule and not be tied to a specific time each day/week etc. I am good at desktop publishing, so I design newsletters for a local food pantry. See how it works? Donate a talent. And good on you for being so community minded at such an early age. Best wishes to you Emily.
