  1. Sounds like something my goat Ziva had happen to her.  I figured it was just a bug bite that itched and she rubbed neck raw.  The vet gave us an ointment for it and it worked great.  Now her hair's growing back in.

I have to agree with what some one else said--part of being a goat is that you itch.  Try putting some cortizone ointment on it, especially if she cant reach it and l**k it off.  Don't put anything that will dry out the skin, as this will irritate it and make her itch more.

  2. Lice, mange or worms, flys, some flys lay eggs under the skin so treat with wormers of ask advice from vet keep a good worming programme regular by cleaning area of s*it and rest areas if you can, clean beding area with j fluid and scrub not any animal should scratch that much

  3. animal tea tree oil spray

  4. Part of being a goat means that you itch, apparently constantly, and must scratch your head on everything.  Fawn (one of my Nubians) aka the big fat cow, scratches her butt on the fence hard enough to pop the wire from the uprights.

However, if she's really itchy, have you dusted her for lice or mites?  She might be itching because of external parasites, which is pretty simple to treat.  Give her a good dusting and see if it helps.

If it seems to be a skin issue that continues despite parasite treatment, you can try a homeopathic equine gel from the feed store.  The one I found is very gentle and safe and contains rosemary, pine oil and other natural ingredients, and really helps with irritated skin.  It's a little pricey, though - about $22 for a bottle, but it does work.

You might also try to add some corn oil to her water, as a little extra oil in her diet should help with a skin issue as well.

    Hope this does the trick!
