What can I do to help my school?

I live in a pretty ghetto-ish high school. It is kinda gloomy and dirty, so I was thinking of organizing a group of students to basically totally clean our school, create colorful art posters to create some school cheer (lol) and also to write letters to companies like lowes or office max to see if anyone will donate paint to fix up some walls or new office supplies etc etc etc

Anyways, do you think this will work? My school is a good school, but its kind of wierd because there is some high-end programs like the gifted programs and IB classes and school through the arts, but the rest of the population tends to be kind of... ghetto lol

Anything else I can do? Do you think the companies will donate stuff? How can I encourage the companies to help our school? Any places I can contact that would help?

thats a lovely thing to do! you could make leaflets etc and distribute it to companies. be focussed on what you need - money, supplies or maybe someone professional housekeeping agency's services. IM me, i will help you write the leaflet, if you want. just address it to the MD?CEO. or give it students and tell them to give it to their parents who can give it to their employers.
