I recently bought the little tercel and noticed that when climbing a grade, halfways up it, the car slow to 50 miles per hour and I'm on the last lane holding up traffic, what can I do? does the car need a tune up or is this normal? car has only 101k miles on it now,

  1. put an aftermarket intake for mid-upper range power to increase, add some msd or accel spark plugs wires, coils, and platinum spark plugs for better low end acceleraation.

  2. Its got a tiny engine and no power.  Downshifting to a lower gear is about your only option.

Common problem for all underpowered cars.

  3. that's completely normal for a new toyota, let alone a toyota with 101k miles.

to improve your Toyota's climbing abilities, tow it with a 2004 GMC Envoy SLT.

  4. Yep, no power at all, if it is a manual, it's probably a 4-speed(ECONOMY)

  5. tune up, with new plugs and wires, oil change, fuel filter, and air filter..... consider a performance air filter to increase air flow, such as K & N.  All of these steps will help your cause.
