What can I do to improve my grammar?

I just wrote an essay and was told I have a grammar problem, what can I do in general to fix this?

To be honest it is the job of the teacher not only to point out your problem but to help you to solve it.  That was a lost opportunity.  Now you must rely on books.  A large bookshop should be able to give you some advice.  Take time to find one that is easy to understand and which is at your level.

The best way of improving your grammar is to write again and again, and to rewrite your faulty essay or texts until you feel satisfied with them. Internet can provide you good opportunities to find critical readers who'll be able to help correcting and improving your written English. The main thing is to acquire a regular practice of writing and rewriting. Models can be found in books, but reading books doesn't help unless you memorize their language, which is a hard thing to do. So if you find some text truly admirable, copy it word by word, and if you know some foreign language, try to translate it into that language. All these methods are very old but they have proven excellent throughout the centuries...

also figure out your style of writing

if you write and need to use a lot of commas,

search on the internet or a book or something where to use commas.

reading any kind books will help you improve your grammer, but it's good to look up some grammer books as well and do some exercises

read english books w/ like a higher level of writing and use a dictionary everytime you hear an unfamiliar word and that is one way to improve you're grammar fluency
