What can I do to make cross crountry pratice fun?

This summer its all caption pratices, meaning captions run all the pratices. I want to make running fun and show that cross crountry can make you enjoy running. BUT all we have been doing the last couple weeks iboring and people arnt enjoying them. We should be runnning about 5 miles now to slowly get everyone in shape for the season. So my point is if anyone has any "fun" runs please help me out it would be great

  3. On fridays our cross country team has a FAR run. (forgot what FAR stands for) one person on the team hosts a run at their neighborhood. that one person can make a run of his own around his neighborhood. Running a new trail can make running fun. After practices the person who host the run provides refreshment and in some cases the host has a pool and after a short run the cross country swim could take a swim.

    If that fails, then take them to a nice place, make a day out of it and like have a barbecue afterwards or something, then they'll come :)

  5. some runs u could do, are indian runs, where about 5 people run in a line right behind each other and the person in the back has to sprint to the front of the line, becoming the ffirst person in line, then the new back person has to sprint to the front. idk some people like it others think its torture.

    u could do a soda mile. boys prefer this more than girls, its when u run a timed mile on the track, but the catch is u have to drink a can of soda everytime u finish a lap.

    if u don't want to do a soda mile, do a french fry run. girls do this one more.  u run like to different restaurants in town and every fasst food place u have to stop and eat a thing of french fries. u can make up ur own routes.

    otherwise just make up different routes to run. nobody likes running the same thing everyday

  6. We used to do running in a pool.  Either as the practice, or after a short practice, if people needed a break/day off.

    Well I don't know how much running was done in the pool, it was more water polo than running.

    Other practices were either out in the woods, through town, or on the track.  Enough variety to not get bored.
