What can I do to make my Window unit work better

It's one that has both heating and cooling, I cleaned it and now it wants to act like a heater it has done this before the last time I cleaned it and it started cooling again after a few days my mother in law suggested putting a pan of water on a table in front of it and that has helped a little but not enough any advice on what to do to make it cool again

If the cleaning didn't work, it may be getting low on freon. You may have to have it serviced. Hope this helps. I live in Mo. and our heat index is supposed to reach 110.
