What can I do to make my ankles more relaxed and flexible while tap dancing?

  1. Try stretching a lot before you start to dance and take deep breaths to relax your muscles!

  2. First off-bend your knees. Once you bend your knees you ankles will relax and you will get clearer beats.

  3. Make sure to warm up your feet before you start dancin..

    Do ankle circles, stretch your legs, etc..

    & I know when I do toe-stands that makes my ankles feel more flexible and ready to start dancin away...

    just make sure that when you do them you stay over yourself, because if you don't then you could really hurt your ankles.

  4. before tap dancing you might want to streach them

    do ankle circles and then point your feet and flex them a few times

    make sure you do it consistantly every time you tap to keep them loose and even in your spare time to could do it just to help your ankles loosen up

  5. A great excercize to stregthen ankles is to spell out the alphabet with your toes either while sitting or lying down.  I know it sounds silly but it really works the muscles.

    Also make sure to warm up with all over stretches and point and flex your toes a bunch!
